Ambient Alpha Terms of Use

Ambient Alpha is an ambient market display for Apple TV, published by Major 7 Apps. It shows market context on a television. It is not investment advice, it makes no recommendation to buy or sell anything, and no one should act on it.

Explore Demo

Explore Demo is free and unlimited. It shows labeled, curated synthetic market data, headlines, events, a sample watchlist and a sample portfolio. No purchase starts when you explore the demo. Its sample numbers do not describe current markets or your investments.

The subscription

Current market data and personal watchlists and portfolios require an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. The App Store is the only place that states what the subscription costs and how long each renewal lasts, because those figures belong to your own storefront rather than to this app.

No separate Ambient Alpha account is required. Apple manages the subscription through your Apple Account. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation stops future renewal; removing Ambient Alpha does not cancel the subscription. Apple handles billing, payment questions and refund requests. Current instructions are available at https://support.apple.com/guide/tv/manage-subscriptions-atvb0d233668/tvos.

Apple's current Apple TV guide gives this path: open Settings, choose Profiles and Accounts, select your profile, then Subscriptions. Select the subscription and follow the onscreen cancellation instructions. Menu names may differ on older tvOS versions.

Market data

Licensed market values in Ambient Alpha come from Tiingo. They are derived reference observations, not exchange trade prints, so a value here can differ from the value of a trade that actually happened. Regime, breadth, participation, risk, and catalyst context are derived by Major 7 Apps from those reference observations. They describe what the market is doing and are not investment advice.

Ambient Alpha labels what it is showing, and it shows nothing at all rather than show something it cannot state truthfully. It never substitutes invented values for missing data.

Limits

Ambient Alpha is supplied as it is. Major 7 Apps does not promise that the display will be continuous, uninterrupted, or fit for any decision you make with it. Market data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. You are responsible for every decision you take, and a display on a wall is not a basis for one.

Changes

These terms may change. A changed version reaches this Apple TV with an update to Ambient Alpha from the App Store.
